January 10, 2025•1 min read

  1. Purpose and Objectives:

    • Enable self-consumption of solar energy with provisions for exporting excess energy.

    • Regulate technical, application, and operational aspects of solar PV installations.

  2. Eligibility:

    • Open to non-domestic consumers (commercial, industrial, mining, and agricultural).

    • Previous participants in other solar PV programs are ineligible.

  3. Installation Types and Capacities:

    • Rooftop-mounted solar PV systems are permitted.

    • Capacity limits are tied to the consumer's maximum demand.

  4. Energy Management:

    • Excess energy can be exported and credited to electricity bills (limited to 10 years).

    • Energy credits cannot offset minimum monthly charges.

  5. Technical Requirements:

    • Compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards is mandatory.

    • Connection assessment studies are required for installations exceeding 72kW.

  6. Application Process:

    • Submission through the MyTNB Portal, with fees applicable.

    • CAS (Connection Assessment Study) may be required depending on capacity.

  7. Operational Period:

    • The program validity is 10 years, after which systems are limited to self-consumption.
